Roseanne's ratings keep climbing, hitting a record haul for Nielsen's ratings.
The new totals for the premiere have the comedy totaling 25 million viewers and a massive 7.3 rating among adults ages 18 to 49. An additional 4.3 million viewers tuned into an encore telecast on Sunday night. The numbers from Hulu and ABC streaming aren't available yet in terms of their viewers but it is expected to be high.
The last series to add nearly as many viewers in three-day playback was the series premiere of ABC's How to Get Away With Murder in 2014.
Many expect Roseanne's success to get bigger, justifying additional seasons. But how will the series will fare moving forward? Many have voiced their dislike of Roseanne Barr after discovering many racist and hateful post towards the LGBT community on her concours-twitter.htm">twitter in recent years. Others refuse to watch as she regularly expresses her support for Trump. In a time where almost everything has a political value, it is hard to know what the future holds for a show like Roseanne. Tuesday's second night, its third of nine scheduled episodes overall, is under enormous pressure to retain a good portion of its record haul.
