Just when you might have thought Steven Spielberg had abandoned blockbuster spectacles for more subdued, Oscar-friendly fare, the acclaimed filmmaker is back on top of the box office with Ready Player One. An adaptation of Ernest Cline?s best-selling novel of the same name, Ready Player One gave Spielberg his best opening weekend since 2008?s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and its $41.2 million three-day debut is the fifth-biggest Easter weekend premiere of all time.
