Amazon Studios is reportedly planning to spend up to $1 billion to adapt the popular book series 'Remembrance of Earth?s Past'. The trilogy, from writer Liu Cixin, isn?t as well known in the US as 'The Lord of the Rings' but the science-fiction series is massively popular in China. According to the Financial Times, since rights to the book series also belong to China?s YooZoo Pictures, Amazon will likely have to pony up $1 billion ?to acquire them and to produce three seasons of episodes.?
