Steven Spielberg weighed in on Netflix, streaming, the Oscars and TV.
The famous director spoke with ITV about Ready Player One and his thoughts on technology.
He believes that the quality of Netflix shows and films are thriving.
He's also happy about the creativity blooming from productions with smaller budgets.
But he also sees it as a threat to film, particularly when it comes to award season.
Spielberg believes that Netflix films should NOT be considered for Oscars.
Spielberg explained, ?Once you commit to a television format, you?re a TV movie. You certainly, if it?s a good show, deserve an Emmy, but not an Oscar.?
