Guitarist and bassist for surf rock pioneers The Ventures, Nokie Edwards has died at the age of 82
Edwards played bass on the popular 60's surf-rock version of?Walk, Don?t Run? before switching to guitar.
He was a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Ventures were lauded as the most successful instrumental group in rock history.
They are also known for performing the theme to the TV series ?Hawaii Five-O.?
The band was especially popular in Japan, where the Edwards-penned song?Ginza Lights? was a huge hit.
Edwards died on Monday after suffering an infection following hip surgery in December.
