VIDEO : Ava DuVernay?s Journey To 'A Wrinkle in Time'

Ava DuVernay has a bunch of credits to her name. For the past decade she?s been making short and long-form documentaries and independent films. Her most famous documentary is the 2016 Oscar-nominated Netflix film '13th.' The film examined mass incarceration in the United States. 'Selma' was the movie that made people much more aware of DuVernay. She also has a TV project, Queen Sugar, on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Now with A Wrinkle in Time, DuVernay is set to get her biggest platform yet. This is the first time a Black women has directed a movie with an over $100 million budget. It arrives in theaters March 9.
