The novelized 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' opens with Luke Skywalker standing next to his wife on Tatooine.

Fans were obviously confused, hoping it would be Mara Jade, an Imperial servant who became a Jedi Knight.

But this may not be the case, as Reddit users say Luke is only daydreaming of things that never happened.

If so, this means Luke is in deep despair, wishing he'd chose a different path in life.

The novelization hits shelves March 6th.
