Dennis Edwards, former lead singer of The Temptations during the 1960s and 1970s, has died at age 74.
Edwards' manager confirmed that the Grammy Award winner died at a hospital in Chicago this week from an unspecified illness.
Edwards replaced David Ruffin as lead singer of The Temptations in 1968.
He sang on the hit tracks ?Papa Was a Rollin? Stone" and ?I Can?t Get Next To You."
Edwards left The Temptations in 1977, and rejoined and left multiple times in the 1980s.
