Guillermo del Toro's "The Shape of Water" is leading the 2018 awards season, including receiving the most nominations for the 90th Academy Awards. The director recently revealed to TheWrap that the film was almost shot in black and white, since it would have saved Fox Searchlight 3 million dollars. On his decision to choose to shoot in color, Del Toro said, "On one hand I thought black and white would look luscious, but on the other hand I thought it would look postmodern, like I was being reflective rather than immersed."
