Actor Ken Watanabe has joined the cast of the live-action Pokemon movie 'Detective Pikachu' as a character named Detective Yoshida. Watanabe joins Ryan Reynolds and Justice Smith in the film, which will star Reynolds as a talking Pikachu who loves coffee and solves crimes. Smith meanwhile, will play his reluctant partner. The film, which will be directed by Rob Letterman and is based on a 2016 spinoff video game of the same name, is the first ever live-action Pokemon movie. As of now, it has a release date of May 10, 2019.
