VIDEO : Movie Theater Attendance in the U.S. Drops to 24-Year Low

According to the National Alliance of Theater Owners, the national ticket average for 2017 in the U.S. rose 3.7 percent to $8.93. The group adds that the estimated number of movie tickets sold last year is 1.23 billion which is its lowest prediction since 1993, when an estimated 1.24 billion tickets were sold. Theatre attendance has been on a downward trend in the country since 2005, though it rebounded a little bit in the years 2012 and 2015.
