Horror master John Carpenter turned 70 years old today. The internet is typically trending with birthday messages on a celebrities birthday but Carpenter's name has gone virel with an apology from Rotten Tomatoes attached to it. The movie review site wrote on Twitter Tuesday morning that Carpenter WOULD HAVE been 70 today, insinuating that he was dead. Fortunately, the majority of the internet knew full-well that Carpenter was alive, and the hordes reacted accordingly. Despite all of the uproar, it took Rotten Tomatoes quite a while to remove the tweet. A couple of hours after it went live, the message was still available.
