According to a recent article by comicbook.com, the continuing doubts over the return of Ben Affleck as Batman took yet another strange turn on Monday, as the rumor-mill churned out a report by website Revenge of the Fans which stated that Ben Affleck might be replaced by actor Jake Gyllenhaal. This comes in the wake of recent rumors concerning Matt Reeves' "The Batman" movie, which implied that the character would no longer exist in the so-called DC Films continuity, meaning that Affleck could don the cape and cowl for "Suicide Squad 2" and/or the "Flashpoint" movie, regardless of how the casting went in other films. While the story has yet to be verified, some of the source's previous rumors - including those on the "Justice League" reshoots under Joss Whedon last year - did ultimately turn out to be true.
