VIDEO : Hank Azaria Says It Is 'Upsetting' That People Had A Hard Time With His Character Apu

A documentary called "The Problem With Apu" recently premiered and discussed the stereotypes that were portrayed by the famous SImpsons character. Hank Azaria who does the voice of Apu said that the producers of "The SImpsons" are looking into what to do about these criticisms. At a Television Critics Association panel Azaria said: ?The idea that anybody was marginalized based on it or had a hard time was very upsetting to me personally and professionally.? The character Apu has been criticized for a long time about how it represents Indian-Americans, especially since Azaria himself is not Indian and fakes a heavy accent to play the part.
