Even before "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" was released, fans were wondering whether Luke Skywalker would have a lightsaber moment in the film and were delighted to find out that he did! Yet people were wondering why the lightsaber was blue. Thankfully Rian Johnson answered the inquiries of fans and said he used a blue saber when confronting Kylo Ren because he was attempting to exploit his weaknesses. Johnson explained that Luke knows that Kylo's weaknesses is his rage and that by using his grandfather's blue lgihtsaber he would provoke him during their battle.
