X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner said that she was excited to work with Kevin Feige by bringing Marvel's mutant superhero team home to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In December of last year, The Walt Disney Company made a bid to acquire 21st Century Fox?s movie and TV assets which would include the film rights to both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. While the deal has yet to be finalized, plans are already underway to eventually incorporate the mutants as well as the Fantastic Four into the hugely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. Donner last worked with Feige for Brett Ratner?s 1006 entry X-Men: The Last Stand, which both Donner and Feige executive produced.
