Hamill?s performance in The Last Jedi was a gargantuan force.
In one performance, Hamill shouldered decades of expectations and cult-like adoration without breaking a sweat.
He perfectly embodied the exhaustion and guilt that follows an older Luke Skywalker everywhere.
At the same time, he showed glimpses of the naive and innocent Luke Skywalker fans saw forty years ago.
Hamill is also incredibly funny in the role.
The Oscar nominations will be announced on January 23rd.
