Starting 2017, Mariah Carey started off the New Year with an unfortunate lip syncing show but in her redemption show in 2018 Carey starting the year proving herself to anyone who doubted her. A source told Us Weekly that "She wanted to prove herself." For her performance she sang a live medley of her songs "Vision of Love" and "Hero." Carey even began the year by becoming a meme with her performance. Amid songs, she asked for some warm tea that they had promised her. After asking for it she simply said: "OK, well, we?ll just have to rough it. I?m going to be like everybody else, with no hot tea.?
