VIDEO : Where Is The New Star Wars Movie Shooting?

The first film of Rian Johnson's new 'Star Wars' trilogy is going to be filmed in Scotland. Johnson is to helm the first installment in the new saga of films, which will be set in the 'Star Wars' world but outside of the Luke Skywalker story. Johnson is writing the film with Star Wars creator George Lucas. Scottish newspaper Daily Record has reported shooting is expected to begin in Argyll and the north Highlands in June. Producers hope to use an area known as "The Rest and Be Thankful", which is a historic pass between Loch Long and Loch Awe that rises to 860ft.
