VIDEO : Akira Live-Action Movie Recruits The Predator Production Designer

Omega Underground has reported that Martin Whist has joined the Akira creative team as a production designer. Whist worked as a production designer for several sci-fi films like J.J Abrams? Super-8 and Matt Reeves? Cloverfield. Akira is a project that has been in talks for some time now. Many are hoping that it will break the mold for anime adaptations in Hollywood which after Ghost in the Shell have created a reputation for having whitewashed leads. Taika Waititi confirmed that he was in talks with WB to direct the film but a director has still not been confirmed.
