Hugh Jackman stars as P.T. Barnum in the circus movie, "The Greatest Showman." In a recent interview with Collider, Jackman opened up about the quality of television and movies. He shared that really prestigious TV shows have caused movies to step up their game. Jackman said: "If we're gonna convince people to go out to a cinema, we have to give them more than they're gonna get at home." The triple-threat actor also talked about his first read through for the movie, and how he ripped out stitches from his nose. Jackman was recovering from skin cancer removal surgery on his nose, and was warned by his doctor not to sing at the read through. However, he sung anyways and ripped the stitches in his nose.
Hugh Jackman says prestige TV helped 'The Greatest Showman' to be a better movie. Hugh was first attacked to the movie in 2009 but it didn't start filming until 2016 and Hugh believes that the quality of TV shows in the current climate has forced Hollywood movies to improve in order to tempt people out of their homes. Barnum of the famed Barnum and Bailey Circus and Hugh, 49, had to have his stitches from skin cancer redone after singing a line from the musical.
