In "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" Kylo Ren did the unexpected: he destroyed his mask! As introduced in "The Force Awakens," Kylo Ren is fond of his grandfather, Darth Vader and dresses in all black with a Vader-like mask. Yet in a scene after being belittled but Supreme Leader Snoke, Kylo destroys the mask in a rage. Director of the film Rian Johnson said he was "terrified" about destroying the mask. Johnson said the point of this film was to get to know Kylo more and said: "The notion of getting the mask off of him so we don?t have to deal with it and can look into his eyes seemed really important.?
