Pitch Perfect 3 is hitting theaters this weekend. It reunites the Barden Bellas for one last tour. This is the third outing in the franchise. It's focused on a collegiate a capella singing group. The series has some offbeat humor, fun and flashy musical numbers, and a surprising amount of heart with the typical ragtag group of underdogs story. Pitch Perfect was a solid, if unanticipated, success. The first film won fans and was a critical hit. Pitch Perfect 2 was a smash hit. Pitch Perfect 3, however, has garnered the franchise's lowest response. The film is being decimated by critics and has garnered one of the lowest Rotten Tomatoes scores for a comedy this year: 28%. Molly Freeman of Screenrant gave the movie two out five stars, saying the story and characters have long since run their course.
