VIDEO : Hamill And 'Last Jedi' Director Had 'Fundamental Differences'

Celebrity in this news:

Mark Hamill has claimed he had "fundamental differences" with Rian Johnson while filming 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'. Hamill has been starring as Luke Skywalker for 40 years. Hamill has revealed he was unhappy with the direction Johnson took his Luke Skywalker character in during the Last Jedi. In the film, much to everyone's surprise, Luke seemingly "gives up." He's bitter, angry, and wants nothing to do with the battles ahead. That's something which Hamill doesn't believe a Jedi would ever do. To Hamill, Jedi's never give up. If a Jedi makes a mistake he would try and fix it, no matter how long it took. However, Hamill conceded that this new Luke is not his. It's a Luke for a new generation of viewers, one that had to fit Johnson's story. While Hamill is still struggling with Luke's fate in The Last Jedi he admits that Johnson was just the man to steer the Last Jedi.
