Star Wars: The Last Jedi has sharply divided fans around the world.
One contributing factor to the divide is a fan petition asking Disney to remove The Last Jedi from Star Wars canon.
The petition has a fair amount of support with 35,000 signatures and counting.
The creator os the petition is a man named Henry Walsh.
Walsh has backtracked on his early strong statements with the petition.
According to Walsh, he never thought the petition would get so serious and he?s urging fans to use their negative energy for some good.
He never seriously considered that Disney would strike The Last Jedi from canon.
He simply want to express his disdain for the movie.
Given the quick and popular response the petition received, Walsh feels like that energy is being wasted.
He will now use the petition to post about important social issues that need attention and people who need help.
