On Monday, Paramount announced that a third movie in the G.I. Joe franchise will be released in theaters on March 27, 2020. The previous movies haven't exactly set the box office on fire - both failing to cross the $400 million mark despite having film budgets approaching $200 million and diverse A-list casts. According to most fans, the main issue with the films has been an imbalance between the comic book fantasy and military action that are the staples of G.I. Joe. However, that's something that could be corrected with the right director choice for the 2020 movie.
