Fantastic Four fans everywhere are excited. That's because Disney is in talks to buy 20th Century Fox.
What does this mean for the Fantastic Four movie series?
It's been assumed that if the Disney 20th Century Fox deal goes through that Marvel would reclaim the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.
It turns out only one of those is completely true.
While Fox owns the distribution rights for Fantastic Four, it only owns part of the movie rights.
German company Constantin films owns the other part of the Fantastic Four rights.
The last Fantastic Four film flopped. For Constantin films the franchise is more trouble than it's worth.
If the deal with 20th Century Fox goes through Constantin films should call Disney up and see if they are willing to make a deal.
