The competitive gaming market is standing on a threshold right now.
With media companies, including ESPN, offering coverage of eSports tournaments, a part of the video gaming community is going mainstream.
Although professional competitive video game tournaments have been around for years, the spotlight has never shined so bright.
It seemed unimaginable years ago, but eSports are a booming business, drawing in hundreds of millions of dollars annually in advertising and sponsorships.
Just two years ago, at least $218 million was spent globally on ads and sponsoring for eSports.
Now, that figure has doubled to $440 million, which excludes media broadcasting rights.
