Actress Laura Dern thinks 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' offers an "incredibly relatable" portrayal of women. Dern is one of the newest stars to join the saga and portrays Vice Admiral Holdo in the eighth installment of the popular sci-fi franchise. He admitted she wanted to join the 'Star Wars' franchise because it is "empowering". While attending the world premiere of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' in Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday she said Star Wars is "about holding on to hope even in amidst of suffering and oppression. And it's incredibly relatable as a film of our time right now with the portrayal of women."
