Nick Cassavetes is eying a first-time move into TV.
The Wrap shares that the filmmaker has signed on to write a pilot for a drama based on the life of former Los Angeles Kings owner Bruce McNail.
McNail, once a self-made tycoon, owned the NHL team for a period in the 1980s and '90s ? one that famously saw him bring Wayne Gretzky over from the Edmonton Oilers.
efaulted on a $90 million loan in 1993 and eventually spent time in jail for his admitted role in a scheme to swindle the Kings, banks and a securities firm out of $236 million.
Cassavetes' series would chronicle McNail's rise and fall.
