VIDEO : Guillermo del Toro Has Been Wanting To Make 'The Shape of Water' For Decades

Guillermo del Toro is known for his work with fairy tales and horror but now he is venturing into a new genre: romance. Del Toro's latest work "The Shape of Wtaer" is a film set in the 1960s where a research facility's janitor forms a relationship with an aquatic creature. The director said he had the idea for this film for decades but that it was not until he talked to Daniel Kraus in 2011 that he was able to finally get the premise of his film and put all the ideas he had thought of for years into action. Del Toro said: "The movie is a combination of the extraordinary and the ordinary constantly."
