Early on Tuesday, musician John Mayer was hospitalized in New Orleans for an emergency appendectomy. The forty-year-old Mayer is currently in the midst of a United States tour with Dead & Company, the group he formed in 2015 with former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann. The group confirmed in a Twitter post that it has postponed a concert scheduled for Tuesday night at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans due to Mayer undergoing surgery.
