Now a days, it is nearly impossible to believe that the Earth could be flat, but in the past, most of the people on Earth did not even fathom that the earth could be round. Something that many of those "flat-Earther's" still needed to learn about was gravity. On a sphere, gravity pulls in the same direction everywhere on the surface. This is what causes an apple to fall down from a tree and hit the ground and not jump out of the tree and hit your face. Neil deGrasse Tyson tweeted out a photo of an impossible "lunar eclipse" saying it was one that "flat-Earther's have never seen."
