VIDEO : Russell Simmons Will Leave Def Jam Recordings After Sexual Assault Allegations

Screenwriter Jenny Lumet has accused Russel SImmons of sexually assaulting her in 1991. Although Simmons stated that he has a different memory of that night with her than she has described, he acknowledged her feelings of fear and intimidation and apologized. According to Us Weekly, Simmons is also stepping down from his business, Def Jam Recordings.Although he confounded the company SImmons says it is now time for him to step down and let it be run by "a new and diverse generation of extraordinary executives who are moving the culture and consciousness forward."
