Matt Lauer was not mentioned during NBC?s annual Rockefeller Tree Lighting on Wednesday night. Following his firing from the company due to sexual harassment allegations, the celebration went on without the 59-year-old veteran journalist. Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker hosted the event and stayed upbeat during the special, which aired hours after the news of Lauer's ousting was announced. Lauer released a statement Thursday, writing, "To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC."
