Matt Lauer, the anchor of "Today" for two decades, was terminated by NBC News after a detailed complaint about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace. On Wednesday morning, TODAY co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb announced Lauer's firing. Guthrie said the Today show team are "heartbroken." Andrew Lack, the Chairman of NBC News, released a memo to employees detailing the firing. In the memo Luck revealed that the complaint against Lauer was made by a colleague of Lauer's. That complaint prompted a serious review and represented a "clear violation of our company's standards." Lack said it was the first complaint they received against Lauer in his over twenty years at the network. Lack said there was reason to believe that this was not an isolated incident.
