Russell Simmons is in the hot seat as model Keri Claussen Khalighi claimed that Simmons sexually assaulted her when she was 17 years old. She also claims that while the assault was happening, movie producer Brett Ratner watched. Khalighi stated that while Simmons made aggressive advances at her, she looked to Ratner for help, but he did nothing. Simmons has confessed that Khalighi did have an encounter with each other in 1991, but that everything that happened was completely consensual. Simmons has released a statement stating that him and Khalighi did spend the night together, but he never did anything she never wanted to do. He also expressed his strong feelings on abusing woman and is quoted saying, " Abusing women in any way shape or form violates the very core of my being"
