Actress Aurora Perrineau accused "Girls" writer Murray Miller of raping her in 2012 when she was just 17 years old. Soon after, Lena Dunham came to the defense of Miller. Dunham tweeted: ?While our first instinct is to listen to every woman?s story, our insider knowledge of Murray?s situation makes us confident that sadly this accusation is one of the 3% of assault cases that are misreported every year,." After defending him, Twitter users turned on her saying she should not call herself an advocate for women after choosing to support the alleged perpetrator.
