Earlier today, ?Extra?s? Mark Wright spoke with Gwen Stefani as she promoted her brand-new Christmas album, ?You Make It Feel Like Christmas,? talking all about her love for the holiday... and working with her boyfriend Blake Shelton!
Blake recently shared that Gwen reminded him of Christmas. She gushed, ?Every day is Christmas because we?re together, so it?s pretty awesome.?
?He was inspired when he heard about the direction of the record," she went on to say, "and he was just excited because he loves Christmas so much and loves Christmas music so much, we both do. Randomly, we didn?t know that about each other ? it just happens that we do.?
Gwen shared, ?We wrote a song together and the title is ?You Make It Feel Like Christmas,? and that was Blake?s brilliant idea.?
Gwen pointed out that she has dreamed about doing a Christmas album for years, writing her own songs like ?Christmas Eve.? She explained, ?I wanted to write Christmas music forever, 'cause if you get a good one you?re gonna have that on this planet forever.?
The album also features her belting out some classics like ?Santa Baby.? Stefani admitted, ?The hardest part of the album was doing the covers.?
She went the extra mile to get the right sound, saying, ?We had all live musicians, which I know is unheard of these days, to record the record 'cause we wanted to make it sound like a Phil Spector kind of '60s Ronettes vibe.?
Blake and Gwen are, of course, planning on spending the holidays together. She revealed, ?We are going to do Christmas this year at my house. We are going to go to Oklahoma first and do a pre-Christmas there, then we're gonna come back to do Christmas at mine."
Gwen?s kids will most likely wake her up nice and early. She said, ?I would say 5:30... It?s fine, I'm just as excited as they are. It?s just a magical thing having children and being able to pass on traditions that we had, 'cause my parents were just so good at it.?
The 48-year-old also opened up on life, saying, ?I?m on a good run right now, I?m having a lot of fun. Life is a journey? I feel really blessed. I?ve had so much fun making music and sharing it, and to be able to do it in a Christmas way is like another level.?
Gwen said, ?Christmas is the greatest time of year and I feel like I am the Queen of Christmas!?
