On Friday, billionaire actress Zhao Wei and her husband have been barred from trading stocks in China for five years and fined by security regulators who cited disclosure irregularities related to the couple's bid to takeover a firm. According to a filing by Zhejiang Sunriver to the Shanghai stock exchange, the regulator claims that the bid made misleading statements and major omissions in disclosures. In the filing, the regulator said that the Wei's actions "severely impacted market order, hurt medium and small investors' confidence in the market, and undermined fairness, justice and openness of the market."
