According to a Vanity Fair story Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are very happy being together. Lopez first met Rodriguez in 2005 when she was married to Marc Anthony and he thre the first pitch at a Mets game against the New York Yankees. Not having talked since then, they reconnect in 2016 when Lopez saw him walk past a restaurant she was in and approached him. After that they went on a date, walked at the 2017 Met Gala holding hands, and now both say they bonded quickly over their many similarities. Lopez told HOLA! USA: "We compliment each other, and there's really pure, true love. Just wanting to support the other person and make them happy."
