CBS is making some changes to its Monday night comedy lineup.
The broadcaster announced Wednesday that it is bringing back Matt LeBlanc's Man With a Plan to kick off its sophomore season Monday, Nov. 13, at 8:30 p.m.
Subsequently, freshman comedy 9JKL will move back an hour to 9:30 p.m. beginning Nov. 6, and push fellow first-year entry Me, Myself & I off the schedule until a later date. News of the upcoming schedule shift comes five and six episodes into the half-hours' respective runs. (Neither series has been picked up beyond its original 13-episode order.)
The schedule change also comes two days after CBS officially said goodbye to temporary Monday night resident The Big Bang Theory, which will move back to its Thursday time slot this month after CBS' Thursday Night Football run comes to an end this week. (A repeat of Big Bang will air at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 6.)
Without The Big Bang Theory as a lead-in, 9JKL fell more than 40 percent from a 1.4 demo rating among adults 18-49 to a 0.8. Me, Myself & I suffered a less dramatic change, dipping two-tenths to a 0.7 rating.
As far as CBS' freshman roster goes, comedy Young Sheldon and drama SEAL Team have both received full-season orders, the former after just one episode.
