VIDEO : 'Bridget Jones' Actress Renee Zellweger To Portray Judy Garland

FemaleFirst reports actress Renee Zellweger has been cast to play Judy Garland in a new British biopic. 'Judy' is based on a script written by 'The Crown' scribe Tom Edge and is set to be produced by BAFTA winner David Livingstone. The biopic is set in the late 1960's, 30 years after Garland played the iconic role of Dorothy in 'The Wizard of Oz.' Garland struggled with alcoholism and substance abuse and eventually died at the age of just 47 in England from a drug overdose. Zellweger is expected to sing, having already proven she has a great voice afterher role as Roxie Hart in the 2002 musical movie 'Chicago'.
