In a recent appearance on NBC's Today Show, Dolly Parton shared with host Matt Lauer why she never had children. Parton said, "Well God has a plan for everything, but I said that I think probably it was his plan for me not to have kids so everybody's kids could be mine, and they are now!" Parton went on to say, "I have that high-pitched voice I'm over-exaggerated, I look like Mother Goose or you know one of those over-exaggerated cartoon characters and kids just kinda relate to that," she said. Parton is promoting a new album geared at children, profits from sale of the album will benefit Imagination Library, Parton's nonprofit organization that gives free books to children.
