writer and director Kevin Smith has announced that he will donate all future residuals from his movies backed by Weinstein to a nonprofit that supports female filmmakers. Smith got his break break in hollywood In the early 90s when Miramax bought his film clerks. Smith said he was unaware of Weinsteins actions and took to concours-twitter.htm">twitter to say he is ashamed that he ever did business with him. on a podcast he is quoted saying, "?My entire career is tied up with the man. I know it?s not my fault, but I didn?t f---ing help. Because I sat out there talking about this man like he was a hero, like he was my friend. I didn?t know the man that they keep talking about in the press. Clearly he exists, but that man never showed himself to me.?
