VIDEO : Michael Caton-Jones Says Weinstein Cast Roles Based on Actress' 'F#@k-abilty'

On Monday Filmmaker Michael Caton- Jones told BuzzFeed News that the real reason he was dropped from the 1998 cult classic "B.Monkey" wasn?t over creative differences, as was reported at the time, but because Harvey Weinstein thought his pick for the starring role wasn?t (quote-unquote) "f--able." Caton- Jones said he first met Weinstein in 1989 when he was directing the film "Scandal," about an affair between an exotic dancer - played by Bridget Fonda - and the British minister of war - played by John Hurt. Weinstein's Miramax had obtained the film?s distribution rights, but Caton- Jones said he only saw the producer on set while sex scenes were being filmed.10 years later, Caton- Jones signed on to direct "B.Monkey" for Miramax, but after casting Sophie Okonedo for his lead, Weinstein balked. The lead role eventually went instead to Asia Argento, one of the dozens of women to accuse Weinstein of sexual assault.
