Netflix announced recently that it was raising its subscription price, making it obvious that the streaming company has plans to spend a lot more money in the future. Over the past few years, Netflix has beefed up its original content slate, with successful shows like "Stranger Things" and "House of Cards" and movies like "Okja." Netflix CEO Reed Hastings addressed the price hike by saying ?price is all relative to value. We?re continuing to increase the content offering, and we?re seeing that reflected in viewing around the world.? Now, Variety reports that Netflix is planning on releasing 80 original films in 2018.
