VIDEO : Five ?Game of Thrones? Prequel Series Are In Development

With HBO?s hit series 'Game of Thrones' set to conclude sometime in late 2018 or 2019, the network is in the pre-production process of five potential prequel series. HBO's CEO Richard Plepler said in October, ?I think we will find with this embarrassment of riches an exciting property for us to moves forward with." Book writer George R.R. Martin will be involved with each of the prequel series. On his website, Martin wrote, ?None of these new shows will be ?spinning off? from [Game of Thrones] in the traditional sense. Every one of the concepts under discussion is a prequel, rather than a sequel. Some may not even be set on Westeros.? Martin also said that he does not expect all five projects to be picked up by the network.
