Hollywood director and producer Judd Apatow called for The Weinstein Company to be shut down. At Variety's Power of Women luncheon in Los Angeles, he addressed the crowd and shared that after all the allegations against Weinstein, including sexually harassing multiple female employees and actresses over three decades, his production company should shut down. Academy award winning actress, Octavia Spencer, also spoke out in support of those women coming forward with their experiences of sexual harassment in the industry. She praised those coming forward and the overwhelming amount of support they've been met with.
