VIDEO : Change.org calls for Harvey Weinstein to be removed from Academy

The Wrap reports that a petition, started on Change.org has racked up over a hundred thousand signatures calling for Harvey Weinstein to be removed from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. The Academy, which produces the Oscars, meets on October 14, to discuss the film producer's membership. Reports have circulated since last week linking Weinstein to over 20 sexual misconduct and rape allegations. BAFTA in England suspended Weinstein?s membership earlier this week. Kellen Phillips, a filmmaker who started the Change.org petition thinks that The Academy should strip Weinstein of his membership for life. He adds, "...Weinstein?s reputation was notorious. But nobody spoke up ? because everyone was too afraid."
